Appointments
All consultations with
the Doctor or Nurse are by appointment only.
Appointments can be booked up to six weeks
in advance. We withhold some appointments
as ‘book on the day’ to cater
for people who wish to be seen at short
notice. In addition every morning and afternoon
there is a duty doctor who will undertake
urgent visits and see anyone who needs to
be seen ‘today’ once other appointments
have been used up.
If you need an appointment
‘today’, if it is possible please
first call before 10.30am in the morning.
If you are able to do this you will be put
through to a doctor who will try to help
you directly over the phone. More and more
we find that problems can be dealt with
in this way. The benefit of doing this is
that the doctors can work more quickly and
so help more people. Please

the help of a doctor or nurse.
Appointments can be made in person at the
Surgery reception; over the phone; and using
the online service on our website.

Home Visits
Please remember that home
visiting is very time-consuming for the
doctor. Up to 12 patients can be seen in
surgery during the time the doctor can visit
2 or 3 patients.
Home visits are therefore
only advisable when the medical condition
of the ill person is such that attendance
at surgery is not possible.
When the medical condition
does not prevent travel please make every
effort to attend the surgery. The doctors
organise their work and allocate their visits
at 11:30am. For visits the same day please:
- Telephone the
surgery before 11.00am
- State your name,
address and full directions of how to
get there if necessary
- Give your telephone
number if possible.
For routine visits efforts
will be made to provide the Doctor of your
choice, but this cannot be guaranteed. Emergency
visits are likely to be made by the duty
Doctor.
